DESCRIPTION:Swing Brothers with Sista Paula are a popular jazz\, swing\, and blues band based in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Queensland. Known for their high-energy\, toe-tapping performances\, the band covers a wide musical range\, from Chuck Berry to Gershwin\, with the motto\, “It don’t mean a thing\, if it ain’t got that Swing!”. \nFeaturing\n\nSista Paula (Paula Brackenborough-Williams): Vocals\n“Peter G” (Peter Gawith): Guitar\nHoward Combes: Double Bass\nRoger Beare: Special Guest on Saxophone\n\nThe group is known for its versatility and ability to “swing anything”. Their setlists often feature jazz standards like Billie Holiday’s “God Bless the Child\,” as well as blues numbers such as “Love Me Like a Man”. Performances also feature many of Paula’s wonderful original songs. They are a staple act at local community events and venues\, including the Peachester Cafe and the Beerwah Hotel\, and also play at musical festivals such as Jazz in the Park and Festuri. \nFeatured Musician: Roger Beare\nSpecial guest Roger Beare is a prominent and highly experienced musician within the Sunshine Coast music scene. An accomplished saxophonist and vocalist\, Beare is a familiar face in a number of local bands. He is a core member of The Spirits band\, where he leads on vocals and his “mighty sax”\, and is also part of the contemporary blues band the Blues Bandits\, performing alongside other experienced musicians like Sam Shepherd and Kevin Brand.
