Music Club May 28
May 28 @ 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Hi Music Lovers,
What a magical night we had last month with old friend Rob Longstaff and New friend Lennox Jordan. A night to remember.
This Month, on Sat May 28 we will be easing into our winter timetable and starting at 5.30pm.
And what an amazing line-up we have for you.
Linsey Pollak, of course needs no introduction, and he’s coming to CW Music Club to present his new one man show ‘Searching for that Sound’ which he premiered just recently at the National Folk Festival in Canberra.
When Linsey was a teenager he had an extraordinarily vivid dream about playing a wind instrument that had a sound that he instantly fell in love with. In some ways he’s been searching to find that sound again all his life.
The search for that sound outside the confines of sleep didn’t begin as a conscious search. He only began to realise in later years that he has been searching for that elusive sound all his life. He didn’t become an instrument maker and inventor as a conscious part of this search, that only began and developed due to a series of random life events. ‘Searching for that Sound’ will take you on a journey from random event to random event and instrument to instrument over the course of the performance.
Linsey is the consummate performer using his awesome musical talent and creative genius as well as his charming wit to gently narrate this wonderful musical journey.
CW Music Club has as one of its aspirations the fostering and promoting of local young talent, and tonight we proudly welcome Pearl. Pearl is 15 and a muso like her Dad.
And her Dad is Trevor Hart, Maleny’s own Trumpet wizard, who will accompany Pearl along with the wonder-guitarist Paul Bulanyi.
Paul and Trevor are The Futurists and very old friends of our wee club.
We have our usual yummy meals from Yoav and Bec of Baba Bistro, Our Co-op Bar run by our tireless vollies sells a range of beers, ciders and wine. The fires will be blazing as we go on what is sure to be a journey of delightful music and craic as we Soiree Under De Stars!
The Entry fee has gone up to $20 in line with the Mary River and other inflationary factors.
What Could Be Perfecter.
